R. L. Young
After his undergraduate studies were completed in Idaho, Hawaii and California, Mr. Young returned to his hometown of Indianapolis where he worked in city government and completed post-graduate studies at Indiana university. Not long thereafter he joined his family-owned real estate investment brokerage, R.L. Young Company, specialists in commercial and multi-family properties, with an emphasis on Historical preservations. Rob thrived with the firm for more than 34 years.
Mr. Young discovered golf offers an escape from day to day business problem solving, an outlet where one can have a moment of pleasure from executing a good shot and also benefit from making a few dollars from a friendly competitor.
Over the years, Rob has organized golf events for several international companies and charitable organizations. Several of these events included famous celebrities and well-known athletes. Among Mr. Young’s many accomplishments are three (3) holes-in-one, a finalist at the Oldsmobile Pro/Am Scramble and officiating numerous LPGA and PGA events. He is currently a member of the Indiana State Seniors Golf Association (ISSGA) and a member of the crew who perform golf course ratings for the Indiana Golf Association (IGA).
Mr. Young has shot his current age on numerous occasions, however, not simultaneously. He is active with the Plum Creek Senior Golf League and holds credentials as a master gardener. He can also be seen on the sidelines, as a member of the “chain gang,” during Butler University football games.
Rob has been an executive producer for several film and television projects since 1989.
Brad Shaffer
Brad is the owner of First Class Investments, LLC. From age 17, Brad has been a serial entrepreneur with many startups, acquisitions and dispositions to his experience.
Brad’s recent endeavors include a myriad of companies primarily focused around Disney Travel and Disney Vacation club ownership, exchange and finance, the development of residential communities on the south side of Indianapolis, and enhancing Hoosiers’ evenings as managing partner of Prime 47 Indy’s Steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis. Additionally, Brad’s experience includes private equity space with Investment Banker Trek Partners, LLC.
Brad has served on several nonprofit boards over the last 15 years and has consulted many business owners in different industries. Most recently in 2019, Brad was humbly awarded The Make A Wish of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana “Luke Butler Spirit Award” and the People Helping People Network’s “Servant’s Heart Award for Hunger Relief.”
Eddie Beverly
Eddie Beverly has been producing, writing, and directing films, television projects and videos since the late seventies, commencing with the award-winning documentary about 9-time gold medalist Mark Spitz. In addition to theatrical releases such as “The Escapist,” he also developed series for television such as “Real World 4X4,” the 1998 TV version of “Tales from the Links,” “Amateur Night at the Riz,” and most recently “The Austins.”
Mr. Beverly has had a dedicated interest in golf projects since 1994, starting with the development of the mini-series “More Than a Game,” a chronicle about the achievements of minorities in golf over the past 85-years, based on Charlie Sifford’s book “Just Let Me Play.” With his writing partner Grace Lynn Goldman Bogey Men’s latest productions will incorporate the latest technology & gadgets, dazzling effects and stories that are universally compelling.
In Mr. Beverly’s own words, “Our television series are designed to appeal to both golfers and non-golfers alike, inspiring hundreds of thousands more to take up the sport, and naturally fall in love with it. It will be a bonanza for our sponsors, golf manufacturers and public courses especially.
Mark Nance
Ohioan Mark Nance was the captain of the Jackson State University golf team, which was coached by the legendary Eddie Payton, brother of hall of famer Walter Payton. An accomplished director of golf and business consultant specialist in golf course management, Mark has more than 25 years of service with the Professional Golfers Association.
During a span of nearly 14 years Mark was Director of Golf for the renown Coffin Golf Course and for R.N. Thompson golf courses, both in Indiana. Mr. Nance also served as President and Director of Golf for Man Golf Management, LLC for nearly 13 years. Mark has been responsible for managing more than 100 employees and 300 acres of pristine grounds and has consistently increased merchandising sales by more than 200% over a four-year span at all managed facilities.
Mark serves on the Board of the St. Mary’s Child Center and is a huge advocate of PGA Works.
Mike O’Toole
Michael O’Toole attended HBCU Jackson State University, where under the tutelage of Legendary coach Eddie Payton, brother of hall of famer Walter Payton, Mike became the National Minority Collegiate Champion. Over the years Mike has won numerous regional and national titles, including a win at the 2020 Indiana PGA Senior Open championship. Mike was also a national finalist in the 2001 Buck Scramble.
Mike has been head golf professional and director of golf at many top-tier clubs, including Riverside Golf Academy in Noblesville, IN and the internationally acclaimed Coffin Golf Course in Indianapolis. He is currently the head golf professional at The Trophy Club in Lebanon, IN.
As of 2021, Mike is a quarter-century member of the Professional Golfers Association. Much of the fact-based material resourced in “The Bogey Jar” are accounts of Mike’s experiences while at Jackson State.
Tony Wise
After fulfilling duties as a varsity head coach for 25-years at high schools in Kentucky and Florida Tony Wise retired from coaching in 2021. From 1990-1993 he was a member of the Georgetown College golf team.
A die-hard golfer who travels the entire country to compete Tony was the Kentucky Golf Association Mid-Senior Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019. In 2020 he placed top 5 in both the Kentucky Senior Amateur and Kentucky Golf Association Senior Open. 2021 added wins in the Innisbrook Senior Amateur and Kentucky State Amateur and a 2nd place finish at the Daniel Boone Invitational. He continued his momentum in 2022, winning the Amateur Players Tour (APT) Senior North American Championship and APT Senior North American Player of the Year awards. 2023 has been a banner year. He was a medalist qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open, played in the U.S. Senior Open, won the APT Senior North American Championship and Senior North American Player of the Year titles for a 2nd time, was runner-up in both the Daniel Boone Invitational and Kentucky Senior Amateur, a semi-finalist in the Kentucky Golf Association Senior Match Play, and placed 2nd in the APT Division 1 Player of the Year award.
Tony is currently a Business Education Instructor in Lexington, KY.
Dr. Alison Curdt
Dr. Alison Curdt is a dual PGA Master & LPGA Master Professional teaching in Los Angeles, CA. As a specialist in sport psychology, Dr. Curdt helps golfers perform their best mentally and physically. She has been recognized as a Top Young Teacher by Golf Digest and a Top 8 Teacher to watch by Golf Magazine.

Curt Nelson
Curt is a highly accomplished PGA Master Professional with a proven track record of excellence in the golf industry who has mentored countless aspiring professionals and made significant contributions to the growth and development of the sport.
His extensive experience and dedication to mentorship have earned him widespread recognition and respect. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at prestigious golf clubs, including Head Professional at Loch Lloyd Country Club (1995-1998), St. Andrews Golf Club (1998-2011), and he is currently the General Manager of the Overland Park Golf Division.
Curt has been recognized as the 2019 Midwest Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year and the 2018 Bill Strausbaugh Award recipient, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to mentoring PGA Professionals.
Additionally, Curt has achieved the highest level of membership in the PGA of America, becoming a PGA Master Professional. With less than 400 individuals achieving Master status since 1969, this is a testament to his expertise and dedication to the game.
Dan O’Toole
Dan O'Toole is a serial entrepreneur, most recently founding Arrive (formerly Dronedek). He is the Arrive patent holder and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. He has three previous corporate exits. He has held previous leadership roles held in startups and commercial real estate.
As a strong visionary, he is a leader in autonomous delivery and was one of the first people in the U.S. to secure patents for a smart mailbox. His invention was designed to accept packages delivered by drone and other autonomous means securely.
Dan’s entrepreneurial spirit and business leadership comes from extensive experience in upper management at several prior impactful companies, including startups, enterprise sales groups, and commercial real estate entities.
He is a graduate of Ball State University, he lives with his family in Carmel, Indiana, and is an avid car collector.
Shannon Sageser
Shannon Sageser earned his Political Science degree at Kentucky State University, an HBCU located in Frankfort where he was a member of the Men’s Tennis team. He later followed with a Masters in Social Studies Education at Georgetown College and another Masters in Instructional Leadership at Eastern Kentucky University.
He’s been a real estate agent since 2000, currently with 5.23 Real Estate and an educator for more than 26 years. From 2012 to the present, he has served as Principal of Henry County High School.
Shannon’s interest in golf peaked long before he became owner of the Amateur Players Tour Indianapolis Chapter. He’s a former high school golf coach and has been running golf events since 1999.
